As part of the ROBONETCBC project, a two-day event was held in Kotor on 24–25 February, bringing together project partners, institutional representatives and experts in environmental protection, robotics and water monitoring.
On the first day, 24 February, the project Steering Committee meeting was held at the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Kotor. During the meeting, the project coordinator, Prof. Ante Šiljeg, PhD (University of Zadar), presented the project’s achievements to date. Following the presentation, partners jointly reviewed the next steps and planned upcoming activities to support the successful implementation of the project.
During the meeting, Prof. Snežana Šćepanović, PhD (Innovation Fund of Montenegro) presented to the partners the workshop “From Offer and Needs to Proof of Concept: Co-creating the Future of Blue Technologies”, jointly organised by the Interreg IPA ADRION project INNOVABLUE and ROBONETCBC, which will take place in Podgorica on 26 March. The joint INNOVABLUE–ROBONETCBC workshop is designed as a practical step from analysis of current situation to innovative solutions, aiming to connect scientific knowledge, technological capacity and real user needs into concrete solution pathways in the field of blue technologies.
On the second day, 25 February, the ROBONETCBC Conference was held in Kotor under the title:“Robotics and Sensors as a Basis for More Precise Monitoring and Prevention of Marine and Freshwater Pollution.” The conference provided an important platform for exchanging knowledge, experience and good practices among experts and institutions working in environmental protection, science and technology, with a particular focus on advanced solutions for more efficient monitoring and pollution prevention. The presentations and discussions further highlighted the value of robotics, sensor systems and data-driven approaches in enabling timely response, improving environmental monitoring capacities and supporting better protection and management of sensitive marine and freshwater ecosystems.
The two-day event in Kotor once again confirmed the importance of cross-border cooperation, linking science with practice, and joint work on innovative solutions for the protection of the region’s natural resources.
The Innovation Fund of Montenegro remains strongly committed to advancing international cooperation as a key driver of innovation in the blue economy, by connecting project partners, institutions, researchers and local stakeholders to develop sustainable, applicable and socially relevant solutions to environmental and development challenges in the region.
