The Innovation Fund of Montenegro, as one of the partners in the Innovablue project, actively participated in the second partner meeting, which took place on January 22–23, 2025, in Portorož, Slovenia. The two-day meeting focused on identifying regulatory barriers to testing innovative technologies in the blue economy sector under real-world conditions.
During the meeting, a workshop was held with more than 30 stakeholders from the ADRION region, who presented innovative projects in the blue economy and the challenges they face when testing innovative solutions in real environments. Through intensive discussions with stakeholders and thematic working group sessions, the foundations were laid for further development of proposals for regulatory sandbox models, simplified administrative processes, and recommendations to improve regulations for innovation testing in the blue economy sector.
On the second day of the meeting, partners had the opportunity to visit the Marine Biology Station in Piran, which operates under the National Institute of Biology of Slovenia. This scientific center plays a key role in marine research and monitoring the quality of marine ecosystems.
During the meeting, partners summarized the results achieved so far and agreed on the next steps in implementing project activities. Additionally, the second Project Steering Committee (SCOM) meeting was held, where the implementation of completed activities and plans for the upcoming period were reviewed.
