December 15, 2023.
The implementation of the “EduRobotić” project initiated in the year 2022 continues, aiming to stimulate the development of logical thinking, creative problem-solving, and acquisition of specific knowledge among first and second-grade elementary school students through the educational robot Botley 2.0.
By integrating the Botley 2.0 robot as an additional teaching tool, students acquire knowledge and skills such as: the basics of robotics, screen-free programming logic, and step-by-step programming commands with testing and error correction. Special emphasis is placed on group work.
During the pilot phase conducted in four primary schools in Podgorica during the 2022/2023 school year, 170 second-grade students actively participated in interactive workshops. This was preceded by workshops with teachers aimed at explaining the application of the robot. All of this resulted in the formation of robotics sections for the second grade at the “Štampar Makarije” Elementary School and the “Savo Pejanović” Elementary School in Podgorica.
Continued support from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation and the great interest of educational institutions have compelled us to continue the project and seek donors.
With the help of CKB and other donors, we have secured an additional 16 robots that will be used in 16 Montenegrin elementary schools in this school year. The contract for the procurement of ten of them was recently signed by Bojana Femić Radosavović, Executive Director of the Innovation Fund of Montenegro, and Nemanja Đurašković, Director of the Marketing and Communications Department of CKB, while the remaining six were provided by donors who wished to remain anonymous.
In addition to the four schools from the pilot project, schools that have signed donation agreements and will use this modern educational tool include:
“Risto Ratković” Elementary School in Bijelo Polje
“Aleksa Đilas Bećo” Elementary School in Mojkovac
“Salko Aljković” Elementary School in Pljevlja
